- Hi all,
-
- The version I have is 0.62 from Patrice Mandin yesterday.
-
- He explained to me he got quite down at the quality of Bad Mood
- in terms of speed and accuracy.
-
- This version handles transparency reasonably well,
- and also more types of animated surfaces.
-
- I think in e1m1 the zig-zag pathed room with a green
- gunky chemical layer wibbles and wobbles now.
-
- He basically stopped coding on it for the summer,
- but coded a demo called Xtasie, which is quite nice.
- (Third place at the Place To Be 4 party ...)
-
- He re-started the project and has had to re-code large
- parts of the engine. (Just to get transparency going !)
-
- Another good feature is a good collision detection routine.
- Its fairly stable in most areas and requires just some final
- tweeking to be just right.
- Doors etc. aren't done but the main surfaces seem good.
-
- At the moment he is working on Sprite Renderig !
-
- As for speed, 160x100 runs in 4-6 VBLs normally and
- 320x200 is about 4 times that at around 24 VBLs.
-
- That's about it.
-
- I'll give it a while and write back. I think he's doing a good
- job and does really want to code on his own, which
- is fine by me.
-
- If I remember I'll try and see if he has done '030 only versions
- in parallel as he used to.
- These would be better to get running on a Hades/Medusa machine!
